Mrs. Mildred Irene McHone

Mrs. Mildred Irene McHone, 79 of Mt. Airy passed away Sunday, February 23, 2014 at the Golden Living Center in Mt Airy. She was born in Surry County on December 9, 1934 to the late Otis Foy and Mary Ellen Wright Reece. Mrs. McHone was a homemaker and a member of White Plains Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Tom McHone of the home; three sisters, Thelma Mae Moore, Iva Lou Edwards and Lucille Reece; one brother, Foy Otis Reece Fultcher; a special sister-in-law, Alma McHone Dowell and special friends, Betty Marshall Gates and Jack Arrington. In addition to her parents, Mrs. McHone was preceded in death by her son, Leroy McHone; a sister, Bertha Arrington. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy with Rev. Gene Brinkley officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery.
