Mrs. Mildred Inez Holt Overby

Mrs. Mildred Inez Holt Overby, age 81 of Westfield, North Carolina, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2015 at her home. She was born in Patrick County on July 7, 1934 to the late Sherman and Ruby McHone Holt. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Overby was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Flinchum Overby; an infant son, Stephen Overby; six siblings, Haywood Holt, Rachel Owens, Adeline Adkins, Jimmy Holt, Joy Holt and Clyde Holt; and a son-in-law, Clifford Huff. She was a member of Dan River Baptist Church.

Mrs. Overby is survived by three daughters, Ruby Huff, Sylvia Burton and husband, Johnnie, Sharon McGeeney and husband, Frank, all of Westfield; four grandchildren, Allen Huff and wife, Gina, Stephanie Sawyers and husband, Brent, Patty Fulp and husband, Brandon, Holly Burton; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mabel Woods of Madison, North Carolina, Lois Overby and husband, John Lester of Westfield; several nieces and nephews; her special caregivers, Barbara Simmons of Westfield and Laken Huff of Pinnacle, North Carolina, and her beloved cat, Priss.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 6, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Dan River Baptist Church with Pastor Andy Pack, Pastor Brent Sawyers and Pastor George Hiett officiating. Burial will follow in the Snow Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
