Mrs. Mittie Marion Longworth

Mrs. Mittie Arra Marion Longworth, age 92, of Dobson entered the portals of Heaven on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at Golden Living Nursing Center. She was born in Surry County on July 17, 1922 to the late George Washington and Lula Stanley Marion. Mrs. Longworth was retired from Spencer's Incorporated after more than thirty years of service and was a faithful member of Liberty Baptist Church as long as her health permitted. Left to cherish her memory are two children, whom she deeply cherished, Gloria June and husband Peter Colangelo of Indian Trail, NC and Malcolm and wife Kathy Golding, of Dobson; grandchildren, LT. Commander, Matthew Colangelo, of Guam and Christopher Colangelo of Indianapolis, Indiana, James Longworth, Crystal Wood, Jerry Longworth and Terry Longworth, all of Dobson; two brothers, George Marion of Sevierville TN and Robert Marion of Supply, NC; two sisters-in-law, Betty Marion and Winnie Lou Marion; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Raymond and Kathy Edwards of Mount Airy and Barbara Medley of Dobson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Davis "Bill" Longworth; a son, Harold Longworth; a sister, Beatrice Marion; three brothers, Pholia Marion, Fred Marion, and Jack Dee Marion. Funeral service will be held at 3 pm on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home by the Rev. Jimmy Tucker with burial to follow in the Dobson City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1 pm until the hour of the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200 Mount Airy, NC 27030
