Mrs. Nannie Ruth Terry

Mrs. Nannie Ruth Terry, age 91 of Meadows of Dan, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014 at the Laurel Meadows Nursing Home. She was born on Jan. 14, 1923 in Patrick County to the late P.E. Vipperman, Sr. and Laura "Kate" Underwood Vipperman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Terry; a daughter-in-law, Pam Terry; two sisters, Elva Fain and Dorothy Lyons; and six brothers, Charles, Raymond, Herman, Warren, Calvin, and Leon Vipperman. Mrs. Terry attended New Bell Spur Primitive Baptist Church. An avid gardener, she enjoyed cooking wonderful meals, and spending time with all her family.
Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret and Lane Hubbard of Meadows of Dan, Sarah and Dwight Wood of Floyd, Elva and Kevin Wilhite of Richmond; two sons and daughter-in-law, Steve and Barbara Terry of Meadows of Dan, Roger Terry of Meadows of Dan; 13 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; two sisters and brother-in-law, Ann Roberts of Spencer, Mary and Caleb Boyd of Tallahassee, FL; one brother and sisters-in-law, P.E. Vipperman, Jr. and wife, Margaret of Stuart, Evelyn Vipperman of Ridgeway, Louise Vipperman of Henry; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014 at 2:00 PM at New Bell Spur Primitive Baptist Church with Elders Alan Terry, Tim McGrady, and Edward Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to the New Bell Spur Primitive Baptist Church, c/o Carla Horton, 1429 Howlett St., Hillsville, VA 24343; or to the Vesta Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 911, Meadows of Dan, VA 24120.
