Mrs. Nell Pace Dickerson

Mrs. Nell Pace Dickerson, age 96 of Stuart, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at Pioneer Community Hospital in Stuart. She was born in Patrick County on December 11, 1918 to the late John Henry Pace and Sarah Moss Pace. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dickerson was preceded in death by her husband, George Divers Dickerson, Sr.; five sisters, Ann Boles, Alice Cox, Hallie Harris, Lillie Scott, Grace Hodges; and one brother, John T. Pace. She was a member of Stuart Baptist Church.

Mrs. Dickerson is survived by two daughters, Sara Leigh D. Collins (Harold T.) of Stuart, VA and Vivian D. Roberson (Larry K.) of Charlottesville, VA; two sons George D. Dickerson, Jr. (Fran) of Richmond, VA and John C. "Jack" Dickerson (Debbie) of Richmond, VA; eight grandchildren, Pamela Collins Grundmann, Leigh Anne Collins Whitlock, George D. Dickerson, III, Benjamin C. Dickerson, Marc P. Roberson, Jeff K. Roberson, John C. Dickerson, II and Sarah L. Dickerson; fifteen great-grandchildren, Tyler S. Grundmann, Carly E. Grundmann, Camden C. Whitlock, Collins L.Whitlock, Morgan Roberson, Samuel Roberson, Reese Roberson, Brooke N. Roberson, Cole Roberson, Katherine Ann Dickerson, Cooper Dickerson, William "Bill" Dickerson, Annalyse Dickerson, MacKenzie Crawford and Hadley Crawford; and her caretaker and family friend, Linda H. Fain of Ararat,VA.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart, VA with Rev. Jim Churchwell officiating. Burial will follow at Stuart Cemetery.
