Mrs. Nora Leftwich Smith

Mrs. Nora Leftwich Smith, of Mt. Airy, widow of Robert Smith, passed Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. She was born in Surry County on January 8, 1927 to the late Wesley and Opal Goad Leftwich. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and a member of Central United Methodist Church. Her hobbies were, playing the piano, drawing, painting, gardening, and writing poetry, some of which were published. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by a grandson, Lee Smith Inman; a great grandson, Christian Inman; sister, Lorena Leftwich Holland; nephew, Alan Harmon and family; and several other cousins. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Garland Smith; a daughter, Elizabeth “Lisa” Smith Inman. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 14, 2017 at Skyline Memory Gardens with Rev. Mark Muckler officiating.
