Mrs. Ocie Goode Pullins

Mrs. Ocie Goode Pullins, age 101 of Stuart passed away Monday, March 3, 2014 at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. She was born on Jan. 3, 1913 in Patrick County to the late Joseph William Goode and Mary Via Goode. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, James Millard Pullins; six sisters, Ada Via, Pearl Torry, Judy Smith, Hattie Pilson, Ella Aikens, Bertha Goode; and one brother, Joseph William Goode, Jr. Mrs. Pullins was a longtime member of West Liberty Christian Church where she served as secretary and Sunday School teacher. She looked after several children for many years through the Stuart Baptist Church Nursery Program.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Revs. Eugene Reynolds, Junior Wimbush, and James Houchins officiating. Burial will follow in the Patrick Memorial Gardens. A wake will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday and at other times at the home of her niece, Della Pilson.
