Mrs. Odell Nicey Edwards Easter

Mrs. Odell Nicey Edwards Easter, 84, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2015, at the Woltz Hospice Home surrounded by her family. She was born on July 15, 1930 in Mount Airy to Rufus and Lucy Ann Reynolds Edwards. Dale, as she was known to all her family and friend, worked most of her life in the tobacco farming and textile industry in Mount Airy and Randleman. She was well known by those around her for her wonderful country cooking and her baking, especially her pound cake or "mountain cake" as one great-nephew would ask for when he visited from out of town. Dale is survived by her husband of 45 years, Howard Donnell Easter; two daughters, Joann (L.W.) Bennett and Donna Kay Easter Paul; two sons, Billy Ray Reece and Michael Lee (Karen) Reece; her grandchildren, Tonya Bennett, Joseph (Sally) Reece, David Reece, and Blake Paul; great grandchildren, Cody Bennett, Paxton Reece, Kinlee Reece and Gracie Reece and lots of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Dale was preceded in death by two sisters, Louisa Rich and Sarah Jane Pack and two brothers, Ramey Reynolds and Early Reynolds. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, May 1, 2015 at Midkiff Cemetery by Rev. Douglas Easter. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until the time to depart for the service at Moody Funeral Home. The family would like to express the sincere gratitude to the staff at the Woltz Hospice Home for the care and support that was given in making Dale's final hours comfortable and peaceful.
