Mrs. Ola Hamlin Beane

Mrs. Ola Hamlin Beane, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Village Care of King. She was born in Stokes County on April 8, 1932 to the late Coley and Esther Sands Hamlin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Franklin Beane; also by her step-mother Ellen Hamlin. Mrs. Beane was a homemaker and a member of Welcome View Baptist Church. Surviving are her two daughters and son-in-law Linda and Roger Draughn of Dobson, Brenda Bowman of Pinnacle; two sons and daughters-in-law Don and Sarah Lou Beane of Dobson, Randy and Diane Beane of Pilot Mountain; four grandchildren Wendy and Mark Tucker, Dale and Amanda Draughn, Angie and Lee Ratcliff, Andrew Beane; six great-grandchildren Avery Tucker, Hadly Tucker, Sophia Draughn, Tanner Bowman, Dillon McCraw, Madysin Ratcliff; one great-great-grandchild Jayden McCraw; sister Dorothy Brooks of Dobson; half sister Judy Mabe of Walnut Cove; two half brothers and their wives Billy and Georgia Hamlin, Jesse and Lesley Hamlin all of Walnut Cove; a special friend Mary Gammons. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday January 2, 2015 in the Chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Dobson City Cemetery. Rev. Marty Reece and Rev. Tommy Shelton will conduct the services. The family will receive friends one hour before the funeral services.
