Mrs. Ola Mae Bledsoe Newman

Mrs. Ola Mae Bledsoe Newman, age 84, of Dobson passed away Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Pruitt Healthcare in Elkin. Mrs. Newman was born in Surry County on May 25, 1931 to the late John W. Bledsoe and the late Geneva Dinkins Bledsoe. She was a retired seamstress and a faithful member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Dobson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death her husband, Avery Phillip Newman; A daughter, Tammy Joan Newman; Eight brothers and three sisters.
Mrs. Newman is survived by two sons, Mark Newman of Yadkinville and Charles Newman of the home; One grandson, Jason Newman of Yadkinville and one sister, Mary Ruth Beck of Dobson.
The family will receive friends Saturday, August 29, 2015 from 6-8 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson. The funeral will be held Sunday, August 30 at 2:00 PM at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Dobson with Reverend Barlow Stanley, Reverend Curtis Ponder and Mark Newman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
