Mrs. Patricia Gail Gullatt Hayes, 60, wife of James Harvey Hayes of Elkin passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Surry County on February 18, 1953 to the late Herbert Lee and Mary Emma Wills Gullatt. Mrs. Hayes was retired from the Heart and Vascular Center of Mount Airy as a Patient Coordinator and a member of Temple Baptist Church. Survivors include her loving husband of 43 years, James Harvey Hayes of the home; a son, Daniel Lee Hayes; two beloved grandchildren, Megan Gail Hayes and James Jordan Hayes, both of the home; two sisters, Barbara Ann Coalson and Shirley Fay Felts; four brothers, Herbert Clayton Gullatt, Jeff Davis Gullatt, Thomas Gullatt and Richard Wayne Chappell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, James Rodney Hayes; two brothers, James Madison Gullatt and Charles Edward Gullatt; two sisters, Opal Lee Davis and Mary Elizabeth Barr; a niece, Brenda Sue Cave; a nephew, Everett Wayne Felts; two brothers-in-law, Forster Junior Coalson and Everett Lonzo Felts. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 24, 2013 in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home by Rev. Zane Fishel with burial to follow in the Gullatt Family cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6 to 8 pm and other times at her home.
