Mrs. Phoebe Nell Burch Fulcher

Phoebe Nell Burch Fulcher, 90, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends on Monday, October 16. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and will be greatly missed. She was born to Paul and Eunnice Burch May 16th, 1927.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ophus; brother, Phil; and grandson, Josh. She is survived by her daughter, Joyce; sons, Paul (Susan) and Martin (Tracie): granddaughters, Amber, Holly, and Heather; and grandson, Mitchell.
Nell grew up on a Surry County dairy farm and was a member of Rocky Ford Baptist Church. She graduated from William & Mary in 1948 and worked as a social worker in Surry and Alleghaney County. She was an active NRA member and supporter of the National Wildlife Foundation, Disabled Veterans, and many charities. She was a dog and horse lover who enjoyed target shooting, and loved life.
The family will be holding a memorial service at a later date.
