Mrs. Rebecca Hudson Blue

Mrs. Rebecca Lougenie Hudson Blue, affectionately known as “Baby Blue”, age 84, of Dobson passed peacefully in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, March 25, 2012. She was born in Surry County on July 15, 1927 to the late William Mallory and Leannah Elizabeth Wood Hudson. Mrs. Blue was a self employed caregiver and of the Baptist faith. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted daughters, Connie and husband Randy Penland of Dobson, Lisa and husband Sammy Grier of Charlotte and Phyllis Hix of Clemmons; two grandsons, Jason Hix and William Grier; a great-granddaughter, Temprance Hix; one brother and three sisters-in-law, James Oliver and Faye Hudson of Mount Airy, Lorraine Hudson of Dobson; Evelyn Hudson of Mount Airy, and a special niece, Connie L. Smith and husband Robert of Kernersville. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Blue was preceded in death by her husband Rowan S. Blue; three brothers, Edward Odell Hudson, William Henry Hudson and Mallory Junior Hudson and a sister, Elizabeth May Hudson. Her funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home by Rev. Lee Johnson with burial to follow in Woodland cemetery in Winston-Salem. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday one hour prior to the service. In lieu-on-flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200 Mount Airy, NC 27030.
