Mrs. Roena Ree Hiatt Johnson age 68 of Mt. Airy, wife of Mr. Douglas Johnson passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at her home. She was born February 20, 1946 in Surry County to the late Lunie Alma and Sarah Frances Terrell Hiatt. She was retired from Town and Country Restaurant and was a homemaker. Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Her health had been declining for the past several years. She is survived by her husband, Douglas Johnson of the home, two daughters Regina Lynn Johnson and Kathy Ann Johnson both of Mt. Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, Dean Franklin and Loretta Johnson of Pilot Mountain; five grandchildren; three sisters, Margaret Frazier and Rhumell Humphries both of Mt. Airy, and Roberta Whitaker of Ararat, NC, three brothers and sisters-in-law, Calvin C. Hiatt of Ontario, Canada, Lonnell and Rebecca Hiatt of Mt. Airy and James Franklin Hiatt of Atlanta, GA. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by sisters, Hazel Hiatt, Carimae Macey, Diane Samuels, Sarah Lou Dawson , Doris Ann Hiatt and Patricia Mae Caudle, two brothers, Raymond Hiatt and William Clyde Hiatt. A memorial service will be held Monday, August 18, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Pilot Mountain with Bishop Randall Gentry, Bishop J.C.
