Mrs. Ruby Lee Dawson Goins

Mrs. Ruby Lee Dawson Goins, age 84 of Mt. Airy, passed away Friday, January 09, 2015 at Northern Hospital. Mrs. Goins was born in Surry County on January 2, 1931 to Arthur Marvin and Thelma Jarrell Dawson. She was a charter member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and was devoted to the Lord her entire life. Surviving are a sister, Jo Wagoner; sisters-in-law, Betty Pike and husband Bill and Hazel Lawrence a niece, Brenda Armstrong and nephews, Rodney Hall, Eddy Hall and Tommy Wagoner. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Goins was preceded in death by her husband, Roland Goins, Jr.; a sister, Nina Fleming and a brother, Rev. Arthur Dawson, Jr. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, January 12, 2015 at Northside Baptist Church by Rev. Danny Poindexter, Rev. David Freeman. Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at Moody Funeral Home. Mrs. Goins will lie in state at the church thirty minutes prior to the service.
