Mrs. Ruby Marie Goad Jackson

Mrs. Ruby Marie Goad Jackson, 84, widow of Roland Columbus "R.C." Jackson, of Mt. Airy passed away at Northern Hospital of Surry County on Saturday, June 16, 2012. She was born in Surry County on July 6, 1927 to the late George Goad, Sr. and the late Dora Elizabeth Sutphin Goad. Mrs. Jackson was member of Haymore Memorial Baptist Church and also, a member of the prayer group circle. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother whose greatest joy was cooking for family and friends. Mrs. Jackson is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie and Clint Chilton and Lynn and Ray Lambert all of Mt. Airy; three grandchildren, Jennifer Wright and husband, Daniel, Emily Leftwich and husband, Brian and John Lambert all of Mt. Airy; one great grandson, Luke Wright; sister, Goldie and Earl Vogler of Pfafftown; brothers and sisters-in-law, Glenn Goad of Jonesville, Jim and Carol Goad, George Jr. (June) and Mary Goad, and Ray Goad, Sr. all of Mt. Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her husband, Roland Columbus "R.C." Jackson; sisters, Evelyn Haley, Vergie Pardue, and Maude Shelton; brothers, Willie Goad, Ralph Goad and Earnest Goad. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert McCrary and Rev. Justin Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery in Mount Airy. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
