Mrs. Ruby Pauline Bates Watson

Mrs. Ruby P. Watson Age 88 of Mt. Airy widow of Mr. Dixie Allen Watson, Jr. passed away Tuesday July 29, 2014 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Watson was born July 17, 1926 in Surry County to the late Barney and Dovie Reece Bates. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Cathy Watson Amburn and Bruce , Pamela Watson and a son. Mitchell Wayne Watson, two grandchildren and a spouse, Amber Amburn Ross and Justin, and Joel Bowman and a great granddaughter, Jordan Bowman. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Watson was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Tucker and Lucille Davis and a great grandson, Joshua Bowman. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Skyline Memory Gardens. The service will be conducted by Rev. Tony Holder. There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
