Mrs. Ruby Lee Shelton Welch

Mrs. Ruby Lee Shelton Welch, 77, of Mt. Airy passed away Sunday, October 26, 2014 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. She was born in Surry County on January 24, 1937 to the late Grover and Sadie Stephens Shelton. Mrs. Welch was a retired seamstress and was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Vicky and Alan McAuley of Palm Bay, FL, Lynda Welch Graham of Mt. Airy; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gordon and Lesa Reeves, Phil and Jean Welch all of Mt. Airy; six grandchildren, Justin Reeves, Tanner Reeves, Chandler Hull, Beth Ragan, Lee Welch, and Brandan Welch; eight great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Welch was preceded in death by her husband, George Welch, Jr.; a son, Leon Beck; two sisters, Ruth Lewellyn, and Christine Branch. Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 2, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dwight Sechrist officiating. Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
