Mrs. Ruth Morrison Belcher

Mrs. Ruth Morrison Belcher, age 87 of Stuart, VA passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Pioneer Community Hospital of Patrick County. She was born in Patrick County on November 2, 1927 to the late Abe Morrison and Mae Craig Morrison. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Belcher; four sisters, Merlie Griffith, Jo Anne Hylton, Susie Rorrer, and Avis DeHart; and three brothers, Tony Morrison, Thomas Morrison, and Albert Morrison. She was a member of Fairystone Baptist Church and had retired from United Elastic. Ruth was fan of George Jones and country music. She also enjoyed reading.
Mrs. Belcher is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Pam McAlexander and husband, Jerry of Stuart; a son and daughter-in-law, Timmy Belcher and wife, Lori of Stuart; four grandchildren, Rhonda Gunter, Joey Belcher, Cody Belcher, and Ryan McAlexander; four great grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard Morrison and wife, Viola of Stuart; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart with Pastors Tim Harvey, Gerald Melton, and Kriss Foley officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the Woolwine Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and at other times at the home of her daughter.
