Mrs. Sally Ann S. Utt

Mrs. Sally Ann Simmons Utt, age 75 of Mt, Airy, passed away at Baptist Hospital on February 25, 2014. Sally was born to Garnet and Princess Alice Calloway Simmons on November 18, 1938. Sally was of the Baptist Faith. She enjoyed reading, cooking and spending time with her family. She especially loved watching Nascar races with her husband Roy. Sally retired from Sara Lee after 37 years where she was a finishing department manager. Sally was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Janet Riddle and a brother Richard Allen Simmons. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Roy Utt and two daughters, Karen Utt of the home and Cindy Hamm and husband Tommy; two grandsons, Travis Lee Hamm and fiancée Ally Butler, Tommy Junior Hamm (T.J.) and girlfriend, Courtney Wright; 2 step grandchildren, Jennifer Swartz and husband Jim of Abingdon, VA, Kevin Lee Hamm of Saltville, VA; a sister, Mary Leigh Adams and husband Burney; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike and Betty G. Simmons and Frank and Betty M. Simmons, a sister-in-law, Glenda H. Simmons and one brother-in-law Leon Riddle and wife Ina. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, February 28, 2014 at Skyline Memory Gardens by Rev. Mark Utt. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home on Thursday night from 6:00 to 8:00. The family wishes to extend their gratitude of the family for all the visits and Baptist Hospital 10th floor for their care during her last days.
