Mrs. Shannon Lee Martin Kovach

Mrs. Shannon Lee Martin Kovach, age 53 of Mt. Airy, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 1, 2015. She was born in Surry County on March 15, 1962 to Shirley Arrington Martin and the late Harmon Wesley Martin, Sr. Shannon was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and loving friend to so many. She was always smiling and was loved by everyone who knew her. “She fought the good fight” and will be dearly missed by her devoted family and friends. Surviving are her husband, Daniel Kovach, Sr. a son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Carrie Kovach; a daughter and son-in-law, Becky K. and Perry Spencer; grandchildren, Logan Kovach, Allyson Kovach and Matthew Kovach; her mother, Shirley A. Martin; a sister and brother-in-law, Toni and Dan Young; a brother and sister-in-law, Wes and Donna Martin; a niece, Erika Goings and husband Tracy; a nephew Drew Martin and girlfriend Laini; a great nephew Carter Goings and her special puppies, Jack and Wolfie. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, October 4, 2015 at Family Fellowship Chapel by Pastor Chris Bookman and Chaplain Randy Hilman. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Forsyth Medical Center ICU II. “The care and love was greatly appreciated.”
