Mrs. Sharon Lynn Handy West

Mrs. Sharon Lynn Handy West, age 52 of Stuart, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on September 4, 1959, and was preceded in death by her husband, Mike West, father, Wilbert Denver "Dink" Handy and a brother, Thomas Lee Handy. She truly loved being a "Mema Shannon" to her treasured grandsons, and loved drag racing.
Mrs. West is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Maigan Hodges of Stuart; two grandsons, Dylan and Nathan Hodges; her mother, Belma Carlene Spence Handy of Stuart; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Patsy and Walter Harris of Meadows of Dan and Deborah and Keith Harbour of Stuart; two nieces, Pamela Holt and Keidon Harbour and two nephews, Brandon Handy and Phillip Bridges.
A funeral service will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Jeff Dalton and Pastor Michael Penn officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home and at other times at the home of her sister, Patsy Harris.
