Mrs. Shelvy Jean Moore Gwyn

Mrs. Shelvy Jean Moore Gwyn, 68, of Mt. Airy passed away Sunday, August 17, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Forsyth County on July 23, 1946 to the late Daller Bland and Beulah Estelle Burrow Moore. Mrs. Gwyn was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by her husband, David Gwyn of the home; a daughter, Dana Manuel of Mt. Airy; two sons and daughters-in-law, Darin and Teresa Manuel of Pilot Mountain, Darrell and Carol Manuel of Mt. Airy; a step-daughter and spouse, Barbara Ann and Jimmy Crotts of Mt. Airy; two step sons and spouses, David and Christan Gwyn of Ararat, VA., Timmy Gwyn and fiancée Jessica McBride of Mt. Airy; thirteen grandchildren; one great grandchild; a brother and sister-in-law, James Moore, Sr., and Janis of Midway. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gwyn was preceded in death by a sister, Diane Flippin; a brother, Robert Moore. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Slate Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
