Mrs. Shirley Ann Murray Sheets

Mrs. Shirley Ann Murray Sheets, age 66 of Mt Airy passed away at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson on Saturday, June 29, 2013. She was born in Surry County on September 5, 1946 to the late George and Ruby Poff Murray. Mrs. Sheets was a homemaker and was a member of Welcome Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife and mother and worked for many years with her husband in their garage, S & S Auto Repair. She is survived by her husband, Dan Allen Sheets of the home; two daughters and son-in-law, Tammy and Rev. Barry Clement of Mt. Airy, Donna Barker of Pilot Mountain; two sons and daughter-in-law, Danny Gray and Carol Sheets of Ararat, NC, D.J. Sheets of the home; five grandchildren, Beth Clement Meadows and husband, Benji, Whitney Dawn Sheets, Courtney Jade Sheets, Taylor Daniel Barker, Lauren Abigail Barker; a great grandchild, Baby Meadows due in November; one brother, Bill Murray of Claytor Lake, VA. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sheets was preceded in death by a brother, Butch Murray. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, July 1, 2013 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Barry O'Neal and Rev. Bailey Elmore officiating. Burial will follow in The Peoples Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends, Sunday, June 30, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
