Mrs. Stacy Marie Gwyn Lawrence

Mrs. Stacy Marie Gwyn Lawrence, age 84, our Godly mother, grandmother, teacher, friend, and faithful servant of God was taken to her eternal home in Heaven Thursday evening, October 15, 2015. She resided at 288 Pond Valley Rd., Ararat, NC, widow of Mr. Joseph Lee Royal Lawrence. Mrs. Lawrence was born in Surry County, NC, April 3, 1931 to the late James Richard Gwyn and Lucy Francis O’Neal Gwyn. She was a member of White Plains Baptist Church and a school teacher at White Plains Christian School for over forty years. She is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Joan and Delmer Hall of Mt. Airy, NC, Jeanette and Werner Born of Charlotte, NC, Jerrie and Terry O’Neal of Ararat, NC and Jennifer and Donnie Yarboro of Ararat, NC; two sons, John Lawrence of Mt. Airy, NC and Jim Lawrence of Murrells Inlet, SC; twelve grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruby Tilley of Mt. Airy, NC, Carolyn Reed and Mike of Columbia, SC, Gail Anderson and Benny of Mt. Airy, NC; one brother, Johnny Gwyn and Maxine of Mt. Airy, NC; three special friends, Frances Turney, Kathy VanVleet, and Johnny Warrick. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Lawrence was preceded in death by two sons, Jeffrey Lawrence and Joseph Lawrence, Jr, sister, Gladys Combs, and two brothers, Davis Gwyn and Woodrow Gwyn. Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 18, 2015 at 2:00 at White Plains Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Bill Tucker, Rev Tom Delph, and Rev. Dale Hawks with burial to follow in the in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home of Mt. Airy 6-8 PM on Saturday night.
