Mrs. Susie Lois Lawrence Brown

Mrs. Susie Lois Lawrence Brown, age 91, of Mt. Airy, NC passed away on Thursday evening November 13, 2014 at the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home. She was born in Surry Co. on December 12, 1922 to the late Henry Clay Lawrence III and to the late Mae Smith Lawrence. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Elmer Leon Brown; two sisters Flossie Jewel Snow, Helen Outlaw; three brothers Davis Lawrence, Graham Lawrence, Dorsey Lawrence; special friend Dr. Eduardo Hernandez and Josie Watson. Mrs. Brown was retired from Tultex, and was a member of Maple Springs Baptist Church. Surviving are three sisters Betty Adams of Elkin, Dorothy Bowman of Dobson, Juanita Thompson of Orlando Fla.; one brother and sister-in-law Gray and Opal Lawrence of Mt. Airy; one sister-in-law Mondell Lawrence of Dobson; special niece and her husband Cynthia and Steffen Haynes of Dobson. Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM Sunday November 16, 2014 at New Hope Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Trent Lyons will conduct the services. The family will receive friends on Sunday November 16, 2014 from 3:00 PM until the time of her service at 4:00 PM. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home 945 Zephyr Rd. Dobson, NC 27017. Moody-Davis Funeral Home is serving the Brown family.
