Mrs. Thelma Irene "Pat" Jones

Mrs. Thelma Irene "Pat" Jones, age 79 of 15273 Fancy Gap Highway, Cana, VA widow of Mr. Fred Arnold Jones passed away at her home Thursday, January 22, 2015. She was born December 4, 1935 in Carroll County to the late Robert Edwin and Susie Hiatt Towe. She retired from Sara Lee Hosiery Mill after 40 years of service. Mrs. Jones was a tremendous mother and grandmother who cherished her family and adored her son and grandson. She also enjoyed rose gardening and spending time with family and friends. She was a great provider for her family whom she dearly loved. Surviving are a son, Mitchell Jones of Pilot Mountain and friend, Kerri Lane of Mocksville, grandson, Nicholas Jones of Pilot Mountain, a sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and John Cranford of Winston-Salem, NC and a brother and sister-in-law, Lynwood and Effie Towe of Cana, VA and "special friend" and former daughter-in-law, Rose Nichols of Mt. Airy. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth "Kenny" Jones, sisters, Mabeline Jones, Christine Marsh and Josie Brannock and a brother, Eugene Towe. The family will receive friends at 1:30 pm Sunday until time of the service at Moody Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Moody Funeral Home. The service will be conducted by Rev. Billy Moore. Burial will follow in the Rocky Ford Christian Church Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made in Mrs. Jones memory to the Cana Rescue Squad.
