Mrs. Vener Mae Burnett Lawson Billings Moxley, 71, of Lexington passed away peacefully at her home on May 10, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Surry County on October 18, 1940 to the late Linnie and Ethel Blevins Burette. Mrs. Moxley was a homemaker and a member of New Grace Baptist Church. She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters and sons-in-law, Geraldine and Mark Tatum, with whom she made her home, of Lexington and Glenda and Keith Graham of Germany; a son and daughter-in-law, Bobby Gray and Denise Lawson of Rural Hall; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Lavon Vestal of State Road; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Linnie and Marie Burnett of Burlington, Rev. Raleigh and Marie Burnett of Dobson and David and Rhonda Burnett of White Plains. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in dearth by her husbands, Robert Lawson, Willie "Bud" Moxley and Howard Billings and a sister, Rachel Green. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday in the chapel of Moody- Davis Funeral Home by Rev. Raleigh Burnett with burial to follow in Fisher Gap Primitive Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
