Mrs. Vicie Mae Wall McHone, 89 of Rural Hall passed away at Forsyth Medical Center, Thursday June 26, 2014. She was born in Surry County on October 5, 1924 to the late Roby Dallas and Agnes Edwards Wall. Mrs. McHone retired from Hanes Hosiery after many years of service. She was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Stanleyville as long as her health permitted. Mrs. McHone was dedicated to hard work and caring for her family. Left to cherish her memories are a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Patsy McHone of Kernersville, sisters, Thelma Simpson, Ila Key, Eva Vogler, Irene Johnson and Janie Vogler; a brother, Willis Wall. In addition to her parents, Mrs. McHone was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis McHone; a sister, Effie Vogler and a brother, James Wall. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, June 30, 2014 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eddie Honeycutt officiating. Entombment will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy on Monday from 10:30 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Forsyth County, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff and friends of Kerner Ridge Assisted Living for the care and kindness shown to Mrs. McHone and the family during her stay.
