Mrs. Virginia Smith Beck

Mrs. Virginia Smith Beck age 89 of 530 Old Westfield Road, Pilot Mountain, NC widow of Mr. Earlie E. Beck passed away Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. She was born September 23, 1924 in Surry County to the late Grover Cleveland and Emma Susan Parker Smith. She was an insurance agent for Kanawah Insurance Company and was a member of Westfield Baptist Church. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Earlie Evin Beck, II and Erin of Drayden, MD, a granddaughter, Eleanore Margaret Beck, Drayden, MD, two sisters and a brother-in-law, Sophia Hawks of Mt. Airy and Tina and Maynard "Red" Easter of Mt. Airy. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Beck was preceded in death by four sisters, Treva Cockerham, Leu Ellen Midkiff, Kathleen Welborn, and Edith Ward and three brothers, Herman Smith, Percy Smith and Robert Smith. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel. The service will be conducted by Dr. Joel Stevens. Burial will follow in the Pilot Mountain City Cemetery. The family will receive friends 12:30 pm Wednesday until time of the service at Moody Funeral Home.
