Mrs.Hazel Mae Harris Martin Bennett

Mrs. Hazel Mae Harris Martin Bennett, 99, of Mt. Airy passed away Sunday morning, July 26, 2015 at Central Continuing Care in Mt. Airy. She was born in Surry County on July 3, 1916 to the late Floyd and Minnie Arnder Harris. Mrs. Bennett was retired from Spencer's Incorporated, and was a member of Southside Baptist Church. She is survived by a son, Major (USA Retired) Clinton F. Martin, Jr. of the home; grandsons, Clinton F. Martin, III of Amelia Island, FL, Joseph Lance and wife Vickie W. Martin of Atlanta, GA; two great grandchildren, Zachary P. Martin of Amelia Island, FL, and Ridge A. Martin of Atlanta, GA; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bennett was preceded in death by her first husband, Clinton F. Martin, Sr.; her second husband, Aldine Bennett; two sisters, Thelma Hawks, and Margaret Eaton; a brother, Archie Lee Harris. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Fellow officiating. Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens.
