Mrs.Lena Bell Easter Hooper

Mrs. Lena Bell Easter Hooper age 94 of 1744 Surry Ave., Mt. Airy, NC widow of Mr. James Nelson Hooper passed away Thursday morning, March 20, 2014 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. She was born July 27, 1919 in Carroll County, VA to the late William and Justin Allen Easter. She was retired from Spencer's Inc. and was a member of Welcome Baptist Church. Surviving are four daughters and sons-in-law, Shelby Jean and Rolland McMillian, Lorretta Faye and Billy Williams and Nancy Bell Thompson all of Mt. Airy, and Sandra and George French of Reidsville, a son, David Nelson Hooper of Mt. Airy, fourteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren. three great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Hooper was preceded in death by two sons-in-law, Paige Thompson and Bo Dalton. Graveside services will be held 2:00 pm Friday, March 21, 2014 at Skyline Memory Gardens. The service will be conducted by Rev. Mickey Cogdill. There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home.
