Mrs.Margie Gates Love Thomas

Mrs. Margie Gates Love Thomas age 92 of 176 Love's Grove Church Road, Mt. Airy, NC passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at Twelve Oaks Rest Home and Alzheimer's Unit. She was born July 15, 1920 in Patrick County, VA to the late John William and Ada Gunnell Gates. She was a homemaker and was a member of Stewart's Creek Primitive Baptist Church. Surviving are a son, Dennis Love, Mt. Airy, a step daughter and husband, Betty and Rex Moxley, Galax, VA, a step-son and wife, Walter C. and Wanda Thomas, Hillsville, VA, grandsons. Jerry Love and wife, Sandra , Mt. Airy, Joey Love and wife Lea Love, Mt. Airy,, several step grandchildren, , great grandchildren, Kalleigh Love, expectant "Baby Love" and Ceanna Love, several step-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Thomas was preceded in deatb by her first husband, Garnie Love and her second husband, Elder Walter E. Thomas and three sisters, Zettie Inman, Virginia Kirkman, Cordelia Griffith. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Friday, December 21, 2012 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel; conducted by Elder Gary Lowe. Burial will follow in the Indian Grove Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends 9:30 am Friday until time of the service at Moody Funeral Home. The family would like to express a "special thanks" to the staff and residents at Twelve Oaks for the caring love and compassion that they have given Mrs. Thomas over the past years.
