Annie Mae Calloway, 87, Of Mt Airy, went to be with the Lord on Christmas Day, December 25, 2013, at Twelve Oaks Nursing Facility. Annie Mae was born May 5, 1926, the daughter of the late Earl and Clursie East. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Calloway, and a brother, Glen East. Annie Mae was a retired telephone operator with 42 years of service. After retirement, she loved taking care of her home and loved outdoor gardening. She looked forward to her trips to Kentucky to visit with her daughter & son in law, and her two grandchildren, Alex and Andre, and her special dog, Baby Bear. Annie Mae was a caring mother whom worked hard to provide a beautiful home and nurturing environment. Annie Mae is survived by a daughter, Lisa Calloway Donalson, her husband Gary, and their 2 sons, Alex and Andre of Ashland, Ky... She is also survived by her brother, Ed East , a sister-in-law, Ruby Bunker East, three nephews, William Edward East Jr., Bennie East, and James East, and special friend, Ray White. The family would like to thank her neighbors, Ray and Violet Hill for being such great friends and loving neighbors, and the staff of Twelve Oaks for the wonderful care she has received while staying there. In celebrating the life of Annie Mae, a service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday December 28, at Moody Funeral Home with services conducted by Chaplain Stewart Roten. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Final rest will be at Skyline Memory Gardens.
