Ms. Bessie Mae Crotts Haynes Burton

Ms. Bessie Mae Crotts Haynes Burton, 73, of Mt. Airy passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Rose Tara Plantation in King. She was born in Carroll County, VA on July 13, 1940 to the late Jesse and Eliza Hawks Crotts. Ms. Burton was retired from Mount Airy Furniture Company and was a member of Genesis Full Gospel Church. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and William Chappell of Mt. Airy; sons and daughter-in-law, Roy Haynes, Ronnie Dale Haynes, both of Mt. Airy, Emmett Ray "Dink" Haynes of Cana, VA, Jesse "Bug" and Michelle Burton of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Chasity Ayers, Brandy Harker, Steven Haynes, and Isaac Burton; six great grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Nancy and J.C. Tate, Emma Crotts all of Cana, VA.; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Ms. Burton was preceded in death by a brother, Chester Crotts. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tom Slate and Rev. Donnie Hooker officiating. Burial will follow in New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 9:30 AM until time of the service at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
