Ms. Clara Inez Dawson

Ms. Clara Inez Dawson, age 75 of Cana, VA passed away at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, Wednesday, October, 26, 2011. Ms. Dawson was born in Carroll County, VA on June 9, 1936 to the late George Lester and Sarah Elizabeth Edwards Dawson. She retired from Spencer's and was a member of Paul's Creek Baptist Church. Ms. Dawson loved people and always wanted to help others. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining friends and family as long as her health permitted. Left to cherish her memory is her son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Kathy Easter of Ararat, VA; grandson, Danny Farris, Ararat, VA; great grandchildren, Mark Farris and Alex Farris of Cana; sisters, Ruby Sykes, Bertha Brannock and Myrtle Taylor all of Mt. Airy and Irene Thompson of Cana, VA; several nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends. In addition to her parents, Ms. Dawson was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth McCraw and Clarsie Combs; five brothers, Otto, Will, Ed, Alph and Howard Dawson. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Paul's Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Jones, Rev. Darren Slate and Rev. Oscar Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy, on Friday, October 28, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM where the body will remain until the time to be taken to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the service.
