Ms. Elke LaShane Boyd

Ms. Elke LaShane Boyd, 37 of Cana departed her earthly home on December 16, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 3, 1977 to Eldridge "Elk" and Oma Boyd. She was Director of Child Nutrition for Mt. Airy City Schools and a member of Westview Baptist Church. Elke was much loved by many for her joy of serving and sharing. She had a great respect for nature, and all its gifts reflected in her love for life and her pets, Jake and Mugsy. Her generous spirit enhanced the lives of all who knew her. She is survived by her devoted parents, Eldridge "Elk" and Oma Fleming Boyd; her special brother, Jonathan "Jody" and his wife, Jennifer "her angel on earth"; an adored niece and nephew, Erin Michelle and Joshua Landreth. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Moody Funeral Home with Rev. Darren Slate officiating. A private interment will follow. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy on Thursday from 12:00 noon until the time of the service. Elke Boyd - new title - Angel.
