Ms. Flossie Alene Easter

Ms. Flossie Alene Easter, age 79, of Mount Airy gained her angel wings at her home on Wednesday afternoon August 30, 2023.  She was born in Surry County on February 11, 1944, to the late Lewis Arnold and Minnie Alma Horton Easter.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed.  Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Jacqueline Thomas; 3 sons, Mitchell Mabe, Michael Mabe and fiancé Beverly Blevins, and Mickey Mabe; 4 grandchildren, Chris Talbert, Brandi Talbert, Laken Mabe, and Justin Mabe; 10 great-grandchildren, Logan Talbert, Cayden Talbert, Jada Knott, Eli White, Daisy White, Aiden Sawyers, Jace Sawyers, Maddlyn Mabe, Mikienna Mabe and Lexus Thomas; 3 great great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Knott, Jackson Knott, and Blakeleigh White; 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy and Jimmy Stevens, and Ronda and Ray Cox; 2 brothers and a sister-in-law, Roscoe Easter, and Bill and Shirley Easter; several nieces and nephews; a special friend, Annette Eldridge; and a special caregiver, Sheila Craddock.  In addition to her parents, Alene was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Collins; 2 brothers, Jimmie Lee Easter and Arnold Jr. Easter; great-granddaughter, Keleigh Sawyers; a son-in-law, Dean Thomas; and by the father of her children, Billy Mabe.  There will be a celebration of life service held at a later date.  The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care for all of the love and care shown to Ms. Easter during her illness.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Valley and Palliative Care, 1427 Edgewood Drive, Mount Airy, North Carolina 27030 or to the donor’s choice.   Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
