Ms. Irene Williamson Goins

Ms. Irene Williamson Goins, Age 98, of Myrtle Beach, SC, and formerly of Mount Airy died on Thursday May 8, 2014 at the Myrtle Beach Estates Assisted Living Center. Ms. Goins was born in Surry County, February 5, 1916 the daughter of the late Barnett and Mary McAdam Williamson. She was retired from Pine State Knitting after 40 years of service and volunteered as a Pink Lady at Northern Hospital of Surry County for over 20 years. Ms. Goins was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church in Mount Airy. Surviving are her son, Fred and his wife Penny; nephews, R.L. Williamson and wife Scarlet, Greg Williamson and wife Pam; great nieces, Linda Martin and husband, Bob; Estelle Guernsey, Julia Ann Bradford and husband, Bill, Janet Moose and husband, Butch, Dana Nordan and husband, Patrick, and Cathy Dodgen; great nephews, Bobby Williamson and wife, Martha, John Williamson and wife, Barbara, Byron Brewer, Tres Williamson, Jarrod Williamson, and wife Cassie, Dax Williamson, and Chip Dodgen and wife, Patti. In addition to her parents Ms. Goins was preceded in death by five brothers, John, Barnett, William, Fred, and R.L. Williamson. A graveside service will be held Tuesday May 13, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Oakdale Cemetery in Mount Airy with Rev. Steve Ayers officiating. There will be no formal visitation.
