Ms. Ivy Lee Owens
Ms. Ivy Lee Owens, age 60, of Mount Airy, passed away early Wednesday morning, July 26, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Surry County on June 30, 1957 to the late James Marion “Buster” and Argol Ann Parker Owens. Lee enjoyed life. She was an inspiration of joy, like a ray of sunshine; she brightened the lives of all she touched. Ms. Owens is survived by her boyfriend, Tommy Sumner; sisters and brothers-in-law, Alice and Bobby Thomas, Joyce and Randy Simmons, Laura and Walter Triplette. In addition to her parents, Ms. Owens was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis James Owens. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy on Saturday from 1:00 pm until the time to leave for the service. Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
