Ms. Janice May Phillips Peters

Ms. Janice May Phillips Peters, 65, of Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Ms. Peters was born in Surry County on March 26, 1952 to the late Joe Riley Phillips and Dorothy Mae Heath Phillips. She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Rebecca Ann Atigh and husband Farshid, and Stephanie Herman; nine grandchildren; a sister, Susie Lawson; and a brother, Jimmy Archie Phillips; ex-husband, Manuel Peters; step-brother, Trent Marion; and two special friends, Lisa Speas and Michele Wallace.. In addition to her parents, Ms. Peters was preceded in death by a son, Keith Dewayne Phillips. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday morning, May 16, 2017 at the Peoples Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy from 10:00 AM until time to leave for the graveside service. Moody Funeral Service, Inc. in Mount Airy is serving the Peters family.
