Ms. Karen L. Monday

Ms. Karen Lorraine Monday, age 53 of Pilot Mountain, went to be with Jesus and her life-long best friend Vicky Hawks on Sunday, March 23, 2014. Ms. Monday was born in Surry County on December 10, 1960 to Gertrude Marie Warren Monday and the late Harry Oscar Monday. She was retired Post Master of the Pilot Mountain Post Office. Karen was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed talking about and studying the bible. Surviving are her mother, Gertrude Warren Monday of Oneida, TN; a brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Bertha Monday of Daytona Beach, FL; nieces and nephews, Tabi (Chris) Smith of Oneida, TN; Zachary (Brenda) Monday, Keith (Dolly) Carter, Karen (Robby) Waldrop and Sharon West all of Spartanburg, SC; several great nieces and nephews and special friends, Debbie (Dwight) Dawson, Robin Slate, Denise Monday, Betty Slate, Vicky Hardy, Martha Palmer and Kathryn Freed. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, March 28, 2014 at Oakdale Cemetery by Rev. Buford Jessup. There will not be a formal visitation.
