Ms. Lucille Bottomley Holt

Ms. Lucille Bottomley Holt, 88 of Mt. Airy passed away the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospie Home on Saturday, March 7, 2015. She was born on October 1, 1926 in Alleghany County, NC to the late William Cleve Bottomley and Annie Ogle Bottomley Tilley. Ms. Holt worked at Perry Manufacturing and Spencer’s before retiring. She was a member of Mayberry Baptist Church. Ms. Holt is survived by daughters, Bonnie Chambers, Patricia Jenkins and Carolyn Davis and companion, Lee Barker; sons and spouses, Donald and Chipper Holt, Terry Holt and Neil Combs, Jeffrey Holt and Donald Hensley and companion Richard Mills; a daughter-in-law, Jeanette Holt; eleven grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; sister, Cora Sue Brown and Jencie Finny; brothers, Bobby, Ben, Dennis, Bland and Rev. Junior Bottomley. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Holt was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Holt; grandsons, Darren Chambers; and Richard Moore; sisters, Gladys Bedsaul, Lorraine Boyles, Cecil Bottomley, Zenna Todd and Albidean White; and brothers, Lloyd and Bill Bottomley and the father of her children, Walter Holt. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 9, 2015 at Moody Funeral Home with Dr. Craig Edwards and Rev. Junior Bottomley officiating. Burial will follow at Saddle Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy Sunday, March 8, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. The family would like to express their appreciation to all the staff of the Woltz Hospice Home for the wonderful care given to their mother.
