Ms. Peggy Blizard Byrd

Ms. Peggy Blizard Byrd, age 82, of Mount Airy passed away on Thursday July 24, 2014 at the Central Continuing Care. Ms. Byrd was born October 7, 1931 the daughter of the late Carl and Myrtle Harrison Blizard. She was retired from Spencer's, Inc. and was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Byrd Ritenour of Mount Airy; grandson, Josh Byrd of Mount Airy; daughter-in-law, Patty Byrd of Mount Airy; her sister, Polly Prim of Mount Airy; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Mike Byrd, sisters, Carlene Blizard, Lucille Brinkley, and a brother, Wayne Blizard. All services were private. The family wants to thank the staff of Pruitt Healthcare in Elkin, and Central Continuing Care in Mount Airy for all the care given during her illness.
