Ms. Virginia Mae Bowman Ayers

Ms. Virginia Mae "Teeny" Bowman Ayers, age 72 of Mt. Airy, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Northern Hospital. Ms. Ayers was born in Surry County, April 5, 1939 to Wiley Lee and Mary Elizabeth Norman Bowman. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be dearly missed by her devoted family and friends. Surviving is a son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Carolyn Ayers of Lowgap; a grandson, Christopher Ayers; a step grandson, Jamie Hale; a great granddaughter, Dixie Ellen Ayers; a step great granddaughter, Abigail Hale; a sister and brother-in-law, Estelle and D. C. Bruner and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Ms. Ayers was preceded in death by sisters, Louise Key and Betty Gates and brothers, Clarence Bowman and R. C. "Red" Bowman. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Bill Faw. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday night from 6:00 to 8:00.
