MSgt. Retired Isaac Madison "Matt" Tolbert

MSgt. US Air Force Retired Isaac Madison " Matt" Tolbert age 85 of 1608 Wensley Drive, Mt. Airy, NC widower of Mrs. Barbara Ann Chandler Tolbert passed away Sunday, October 27, 2013 at Central Continuing Care. He was born August 11, 1928 in Carroll County to the late James Noah and Annie Dowell Tolbert. He was retired from the US Air Force and was also retired from Cross Creek Apparel. Mr. Tolbert was a member of Bannertown Baptist Church. Surviving are four sons and daughters-in-laws, Kenneth Tolbert, Pilot Mountain, Daniel and Pam Tolbert, Rural Hall, Greg and Jill C. Tolbert, Pilot Mountain and Rocky and Angie Tolbert, Dallas, GA, nine grandchildren and spouses, Neil Tolbert and Amy, Clemmons, Brooke Tolbert, Winston-Salem, Justin Tolbert and Stacy, Rural Hall, Jamye Tilley and Travis, Pilot Mountain, Brandi Felts and Nathan, Pinnacle, Courtney Spraker and Zach, Siloam, Ashley and Gabe Bratcher, Argon, GA, Tyler Tolbert and Jennifer, Dallas, GA and Bryanna Wright, Pilot Mountain, 12 great grandchildren, and 2 expectant great grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Tolbert was preceded in death by four brothers, James Preston Tolbert, Raymond Edward "Jess" Tolbert, Lonnie D. Tolbert and William Cassell Tolbert and two sisters, Ossie Virginia Robertson and Nonnie Lee Jones. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Bannertown Baptist Church conducted By Rev. Mickey Cogdill. Burial will follow in St. Paul Church of the Brethren Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 pm-8 pm Monday at Bannertown Baptist Church. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Bannertown Baptist Church, 1834 Westfield Road, Mt.
