Mrs. Myrtle Alene Sawyers Hunter Andrews age 77 of 141 Angela Lane, Mt. Airy, NC passed away Friday, afternoon, September 15, 2006 at her home. She was born September 9, 1929 in Patrick County to the late Jim and Ella Mae Cassidy. She was a homemaker and was a member of Gospel Mission Baptist Church Surviving are five daughters and one son-in-law, Barbara Edwards, Mt. Airy, NC, Judy Carol and Roy Hill, Mt. Airy, NC, Patricia Jo Speer, Winston-Salem, NC, Doris Johnson, Dobson, NC, Glenda Easter, Viriginia, three sons, Alvin Junior Hunter, Danny Gray Hunter and Kenneth Easter all of Mt. Airy, NC, 12 grandchildren, Monica Edwards, Ricky Edwards, Freddie Edwards, Bobby McCormick, Chris Hill, Kimberly Hill, Eddie Hunter, Sherry Bates, Bobby Speer, Crissy King, Bobbie Kay Queen and Steven Draughn, 14 great grandchildren, , four sisters and one brother-in-law, Betty Jean and Lester Jones, Cana, VA, Duna Mae Wilson, Mt. Airy, NC , Medie Craig, Mt. Airy, NC and Zelmer Gunter, Mt. Airy, NC. Mrs. Andrew was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter Alvin Hunter, her second husband, Herbert Andrews, three daughters, Ella Mae Wilson, Joyce Ann Hunter, and Paula Denise Hunter, one son, Ronnie Dean Hunter, a granddaughter, Paula Denise Hunter, and a brother, Ray Sawyers. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, September 18, 20006 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Nancy Warner. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 7-9 PM Sunday night at Moody Funeral Home of Mt. Airy where her body will remain until time of the funeral service.
