Myrtle Dalton Gregory

Ms. Myrtle Lee Dalton Gregory, age 104 of Stuart, passed away Monday, August 11, 2025, at the Landmark Center in Stuart. She was born in Patrick County on January 10, 1921, to the late Arthur E. Dalton and Annice Hall Dalton. In addition to her parents, Ms. Gregory was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward Dalton, Richard Dalton and Herman Dalton; and four sisters, Evelyn Wiggington, Grace Rakes Dalton, Clarice Harris Hall and Mabel Rakes. She had worked at United Elastic Plant/JP Stevens for 40 years and was a longtime member of Stuart Baptist Church.

Ms. Gregory is survived by two daughters, Connie Nunn (Norman) and Dena Cockram; four grandchildren, Lesia Lawson Hazelwood (Danny), Kevin Joyce (Diana), Amanda Joyce Cassell (Dewayne), and Bradley Joyce (René); five great-grandchildren, Amy Hazelwood Conner (Essie), Raegan Joyce, Dalton Joyce, Hayden Joyce, and Lilly Joyce; and three great-great-grandchildren, Gracen Conner, Easton Conner and Caiden Conner.

Funeral services for Ms. Gregory will be held Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Thomas Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
