Mrs. Myrtle Fulk Noonkester age 85 of Mt. Airy, NC widow of Mr. Foy Leonard Noonkester passed away peacefully Monday, February 11, 2013 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. Mrs. Noonkester was born January 7, 1928 in Surry County to the late Charlie Clayburn and Amelia Elizabeth Marion Fulk, she was a homemaker and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Leonard and Susan Noonkester and Gary and Stephanie Noonkester all of Lowgap, three grandchildren and spouses, Lisa and Will Haynes of Lowgap, Tim and Kim Lakey of Mt. Airy and Cassie Noonkester of Lowgap, five great grandchildren, Logan Haynes, Trae Haynes both of Lowgap, Anna Lakey, Ben Lakey and Jaxon Lakey all of Mt. Airy, two sisters and brother-in-law Rachel and Calvin Riggs of Spartanburg, SC and Violet Odell of Mt. Airy and a special niece Barbara Ann George of Danville, VA. In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Noonkester was preceded in death by three sisters Thelma Johnson, Mary Ruth McCormick and Ruby York and by one brother Hal Fulk. Funeral services will be held Thursday February 14, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Calvary Baptist Church with services conducted by Rev. Alex Martin with burial to follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday night 6 to8 PM at Moody Funeral Home of Mt. Airy, NC. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd. Dobson, NC. 27017 or to Calvary Baptist Church, 314 South Franklin Rd. Mt. Airy, NC. 27030
