Mrs. Myrtle Ayers Quesinberry, 90 of Mount Airy passed away Saturday September 20, 2014 at the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC with her family by her bedside. She was born in Carroll County, VA to Jeffie and Stella Ayers. She is survived by one daughter, Judy Q. Hiatt (Billy Ray), three granddaughters, Lisa Hiatt Welch Whisenhunt (Wayne), Kristy Hiatt Moser (Brian), and Jennifer Hiatt (special friend Vickie Allen), six great grandchildren, Zackary Welch, Taylor Welch, Yana Welch, Addison Moser, Charlotte Moser, and Dylan Hiatt, two sisters, Rachel Spencer (Bernie), Lear Chandler (Leo). She retired from Kentucky Derby hosiery at 84 years young working every day. She drove her car to the mall everyday she was able just to get to eat at C.F. Jones. She also liked to sit across from K-Mart and see her friends and chat with them. She was an active member of Pleasant View Baptist Church until her health declined. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Quesinberry was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Dewey Quesinberry, a son Dennis E. Quesinberry, a sister, Magdalen Rigney, a brother, Jay Ayers and a half-brother, Hobert Ayers. The family will receive friends Monday, September 22, 2014 from 2:30 until 4:00. Following will be a celebration of her long life at 4:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Steve Parks will officiate with burial in Oakdale Cemetery.
